Put simply - CUSU works for YOU, and is run by YOU.
If you ever want to get involved in the work of your Students' Union, or you feel that the Student Union should be working on something, then there are a variety of ways of doing this.
If it is a Collegiate concern, contact your College External Officer or President, who usually represents you at CUSU Council. If it is a Faculty concern, you should contact your Faculty Representative, who also represents you at CUSU Council. If you'd like to bring policy to CUSU Council, there is a guide to doing so at: http://www.cusu.cam.ac.uk/union/council/guide/ You can visit the office, which is on the New Museum Site, in the town centre (next to the Corn Exchange). You can e-mail any of the officers, all of whom are listed at http://www.cusu.cam.ac.uk/contacts/#people
You can also stand for a variety of part time positions throughout the year - there is more information about this on the website, or contact president@cusu

Your route to cheaper shopping!
CUSU Cards have now been distributed to the JCRs and MCRs. These entitle you to a variety of discounts around Cambridge. For more information on what they provide, or for information on other student cards, please visit http://www.cusu.cam.ac.uk/services/studentid/
CUSU Ethical Affairs represents students' concerns about environmental and social justice issues, campaigning on University policies and practice, and supporting other student campaigns. We've grown a lot in the past couple of years, and it's getting to be too much work for even two part-time officers to do - so we want to make the role into a full-time sabbatical officer. We'll need a referendum for this, so watch this space for more details. To find out more about our campaigns: - Have a look at our website: www.green.cusu.cam.ac.uk - Join our facebook group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=19513391064&ref=ts - Come to our squash from 7.15 on Wednesday the 15th of October in the Cafe Project, 22 Jesus Lane. - Email your Officers, Steve and Emilia at ethical-chair@cusu
CUSU Welfare invites anyone who self-defines as having a disability to our Freshers' Lunch. We hope to bring together Freshers and non-freshers in a social setting, with a chance to meet CUSU Officers and members of the DRC (Disability Resource Centre.)
Date: MONDAY 6th OCTOBER Venue: CUSU Office (directions) Time: 12pm
If you are a Fresher, CUSU wants to know what your expectations of Cambridge University are (before you begin), to improve the information we send out to students and look at how the University can help students transition to university from sixth form.
The survey can be found here: http://www.cusu.cam.ac.uk/freshers/survey/
If you are a student society and you would like to have an item included in this weekly bulletin, please send a (short) text to me, Clare Tyson, CUSU Communications Officer, at communications@cusu, with the info reaching me by 1700 on the Saturday preceding the bulletin you wish to be included in.

Wendy is growing up and has gone missing.
The Boy who won't grow up has flown her to an island where stories are lived, shadows are lost, and where to die would be an awfully big adventure.
This is not a bedtime story.
This is the Neverland.
With an original score of incidental music by prize-winning Cambridge composer Peter Facer, PETER PAN is an intoxicating adventure for children, grown-ups and anyone in-between.

The Triple Helix Cambridge (www.camtriplehelix.com) presents:
Who wants to Live Forever? Exploring the impact of extreme ageing and the future of life extension research
Monday 13th October, 7:30pm
Pharmacology Lecture Theatre, Tennis Court Road, Cambridge
Join the Facebook event at http://tinyurl.com/4kn3rc “I aim to live forever. So far, so good” - Anon While immortality may currently be beyond the scope of human endeavour, it is certainly true that life spans are increasing – the number of centenarians in the UK has risen exponentially in the last century and in 2007 the Office for National Statistics reported that there were more pensioners than under 16s for the first time ever. The ageing population is high on the agenda of all governments in the developed world and research into ageing is increasingly important. As the saying goes, old age comes to us all; but how soon will that be for our generation? In the first debate of this year, join our panel of experts chaired by Dr Richard Faragher (University of Bristol) to explore the impact on individuals and society of increasing longevity and the future of life extending medicines and technologies:
Following a short presentation from each speaker, the floor will be open to you so we invite you to express your questions and views and come ready to challenge the panel!
Refreshments will be served at the end. We look forward to welcoming you!
